Architectural Drawings FAQ

Is this drawn entirely by hand or is any part of it digital?

Every line is drawn by hand with a pen on paper. No digital tracing, no filters, no shortcuts. I use listing photography as a reference the same way any artist would use a reference photo, but what ends up on the paper is entirely my own hand from start to finish.

How do you get the image of the house? Do I need to provide photos?

I source listing photography directly from the listing URL you provide when you add the drawing to cart. If the home is not publicly listed or you have specific photos you'd prefer I work from, you're welcome to send them to hello@thedaileyedit.com BEFORE your order is placed. It's important to secure a specific photo before I begin.

What if the closing happens before the drawing is ready? Can you work with my timeline?

Order as early as you can. Every completed order is fulfilled within 14 to 30 days and I work through commissions in the order they are received. If you have a specific closing date in mind, email me at hello@thedaileyedit.com before ordering and I'll let you know honestly whether your timeline is achievable. I would rather tell you upfront than overpromise.

Can you draw any home or only certain architectural styles?

I can draw any home! Mediterranean Revival, modern, traditional, coastal, mid-century .. whatever you need. What matters most is that the listing photography gives me a clear view of the front facade. Heavily obscured homes or homes completely hidden behind trees or shot at an extreme angle could result in a delayed or canceled order.

What is your refund policy?

Each illustration is a custom piece of original art created specifically for one home. Because of that, I do not accept returns or offer refunds once production has begun. If your drawing arrives damaged in transit, please reach out. A damaged picture frame could result in a refund for the cost of the frame or could result in a replacement frame being mailed to you. Damage to the drawing could result in a refund, but is not guaranteed. Refunds are not guaranteed for any of the instances listed above. Photos are required to file a request. All refund requests should be emailed to hello@thedaileyedit.com with the subect line, "Refund Request"

What if the home has been renovated or looks different now than in listing photos?

I draw from the best available listing photography of the property. If the home has been significantly renovated and you want the drawing to reflect its current appearance rather than how it looked at closing, send me your own photos BEFORE checkout and I will work from those instead. Once a drawing has been purchased, I choose the reference image for the drawing. If you have a preference for which one is used, please reach out and receive confirmation that your photo is mutually agreed as the best choice.

Do you draw condos, townhomes, or commercial properties or only single family homes?

I draw any property! Single family homes, condos, townhomes, estate properties, etc. The only requirement is a clear view of the exterior of the home or building. No interior shots unless specifically approved via email. For inquiries, send an email to hello@thedaileyedit.com

What are the frame dimensions?

Both the 5x7 and 8x10 illustrations are matted and framed in the same Wood Gallery frame at 14x17 inches. The frame is black with a matte and arrives ready to hang. A 5x7 will have a double matte to feature a smaller painting versus an 8x10 drawing will have a single wide matte.

Can I choose a different frame style or color?

Not at this time. The frame was chosen specifically because it presents the work the way I feel like is the best, most clean and classic look. Every framed commission arrives in the same presentation.

How far in advance do I need to order?

As far in advance as possible. Production takes 14 to 21 days and I cap commissions at five per month to protect quality. If slots for the current month are full, the product will be removed from the site until the next month opens. Agents who plan ahead get the best results.

How long does it take to complete a commission?

Every order is fulfilled within 14 to 20 days from the date of purchase. You will receive a shipping notification with tracking information when your order leaves my studio.

Can I rush an order for an upcoming closing?

I do offer rush orders for an additional charge. That cost guarantees that your order is worked on immediately. If your timeline is tight, email me before ordering and I'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Will I see the drawing before it ships?

No, the illustration is created and shipped without a preview step. This is an intentional part of the process. The drawing is a finished original, not a draft to be approved. If you have specific concerns about the property or the reference photography before I begin, email me and we can address them upfront.

What if I'm not happy with how it turned out?

I stand behind every piece I send. If something about your order doesn't meet the standard I hold myself to, email me at hello@thedaileyedit.com and we will figure it out together. I do not offer revisions or refunds on custom commissions, but I am not in the business of sending work I'm not proud of. Every drawing is from a place of passion and drive for excellence.

How is the illustration packaged and shipped?

Every illustration ships in a fully branded box designed specifically to keep the framed pieces secured and snug inside the box. This branded box is placed within a brown cardboard box for protection where the shipping sticker will be placed. A reference photo of the packaging can be found on the Architectural Drawing product page at the bottom.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. I ship anywhere in the continental United States via UPS Ground. I do not currently ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or internationally, but exceptions could be made. Reach out to me via email to plan a special project at hello@thedaileyedit.com

How will I know when it ships and when to expect it?

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a UPS tracking number as soon as your order leaves my studio. From there you can track it directly through UPS.

What happens if the package is damaged in transit?

If your order arrives damaged, email me at hello@thedaileyedit.com within 36 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging. I will make it right.
